    Home made dog biscuits

     

    3/4 cup meat drippings or beef broth
    1/4 cup margarine
    1/2 cup powdered milk
    1 egg
    3 cups whole wheat flour

  1. In large bowl pour heated meat drippings or beef broth over margarine to melt.
  2. Add powdered milk, beaten egg and pinch of salt.
  3. Slowly add flour 1/2 cup at a time mixing well.
  4. The dough will be stiff.
  5. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with favorite cookie cutter.
  6. Place on cookie sheet treated with fat-free non-stick baking spray.
  7. Bake at 250oF for 45 minutes.
  8. Let cool and store in airtight container.

    Makes approx. 2 dozen.

     

Cat's Meow Cookies

7 oz mashed sardines, 2 cans drain oil
1/4 cup dry non-fat milk
1/2 cup wheat germ

 

  1. Thoroughly mix ingredients together.
  2. Roll into approximately 30 balls about the size of a marble.
  3. Place on a cookie sheet treated with fat-free non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Bake at 350oF until brown , about 12 - 15 minutes.
  5. Let cool before removing, store soft cookies in airtight container in the refridgerator.
